About Me
I am honored to be working as a marriage and family therapist...
I am so grateful to have found a profession that allows me to sit with people from all walks of life and be curious about how life unfolds and challenges each of us.
I am trained as a family systems therapist which means that I take into account the interactions between family members and significant others to find solutions to distressing issues. Also, I am curious about how societal expectations impact individuals, couples and families. I view therapy as a collaborative endeavor with you being the expert in your life leaving me to guide thoughtful and curious conversation. I see problems as existing outside of ourselves impacting our lives in different ways.

I am a Certified Integrated Intimacy Professional, a member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy, International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy and Washington Association for Marriage and Family Therapy.
I attended Seattle Pacific University to receive my Masters of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy. I have further training in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Adlerian Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Prepare-Enrich Facilitation, Motivational Interviewing and Tantric practices.
I love laughter...
For me, laughter is truly therapeutic. Whether I am laughing at my own expense or with others, I always seem to feel a bit lighter and brighter after a giggle. Heck, I consider a hearty laughing fit my exercise for the day! Experts agree that laughter has many health benefits including improved circulation, reduced anxiety and a stronger immune system.
The great outdoors calls my name...
Give me a pair of hiking boots, a trail buddy and the promise of an adventure and I'm there! I feel so fortunate to live in the lush northwest where we don't have to travel far to enjoy nature. In addition to hiking, I love camping, kayaking and, at the moment, I am investigating rock climbing.
I am 1/3 Washintonian, 1/3 Texan and 1/3 New Yorker...
Having lived and worked in these three distinct regions, I couldn't help but adopt some of their customs, beliefs and quirks. I am proud to be eco-responsible, a lover of two-steppin' and a very brisk walker. I also think that living in such diverse areas of the country has provided me with a heightened sensitivity to cultural issues and gender considerations.
On my bucket list...
Among a few thousand other things, I would love to go swimming in Lake Retba, Senegal. It's waters are pink and have a high salt content allowing you to feel as if you are floating in a giant strawberry milkshake...check it out!
